German foreign minister to visit Russia
MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter
Steinmeier is due to pay a working visit to Russia on May 12-16, the
Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.
Steinmeier, who is also vice chancellor of Germany, is due to hold
talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Yekaterinburg on
May 13-14.
The two ministers will "analyze the current state of Russian-German
relations and exchange opinions on a wide range of international issues
and practical aspects of bilateral interaction with a view to organizing
planned highest-level Russian-German contacts and filling them with
serious content," the ministry said in a statement posted on its
website.
The program for Steinmeier's stay in Russia includes visits to
Moscow and St. Petersburg, the statement said.
