Consolidation of political forces, society needed for Russia'sdevelopment - Putin (Part 2)
MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - Vladimir Putin, the candidate for
Russian prime minister, said the consolidation of political forces and
solidarity of society are needed for Russia's development.
"As before, I'm convinced of the need to consolidate political
forces and society's solidarity. All branches of power need to work
smoothly, their close partnership is a must in the interests of all the
country's citizens and successful national development," Putin said in
the State Duma, where his candidacy for prime minister is being
discussed.
"It's clear to me that the government can be genuinely strong and
efficient only if it can depend totally on the legislative branch. It is
on that basis that we need to build our relations with the State Duma,"
he said.
