TGK-4 ups electricity output 14% in Q1
TULA. May 7 (Interfax) - Territorial generating company TGK-4
produced 4.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first quarter
of 2008, 14% more than in the same period last year, a company spokesman
told Interfax.
TGK-4's power generating facilities sold 1.186 billion kWh and
purchased 0.527 billion kWh on the competitive sections of the wholesale
electricity market (the tomorrow market and the balancing market). The
Tula and East affiliates accounted for the bulk of those purchases and
sales.
The company delivered 10.6 million Gcal of heat to consumers. TGK-4
was owed a total of 2.6 billion rubles for heat deliveries as of April
1. The company is working to collect the debt. It filed 539 suits in the
first quarter to collect on 453.2 million rubles in unpaid heat bills.
TGK-4 was formed from the combined heat and power plants in 11
regions of central Russia during the energy reform. Installed capacity
totals 3,300 megawatts of electricity and 17,200 Gcal/hr of heat.
