Interfax-Center opens bureau and press center in Ivanovo

Interfax-Center News Agency, a member of Interfax Information Services Group, has opened a bureau and press center in Ivanovo.

"The opening of the Interfax-Center bureau and press center in Ivanovo region is a noticeable event in the region. With the appearance of such an influential media outlet our region is getting one more chance to make itself known at the federal level,” Mikhail Men, Governor of Ivanovo region, said at the opening ceremony.

“My personal experience of cooperating with Interfax allows me to say that impartiality, promptness and reliability distinguish the reporting of its correspondents and that the operation of the Interfax-Center bureau in Ivanovo region will encourage greater openness of the authorities. In my opinion, only this will allow us to establish an effective dialogue between representatives of the authorities and the mass media,” he added.

The press center in Ivanovo is the fourth outlet of the agency in Central Russia. Interfax-Center press centers have been successfully operating in Yaroslavl, Ryazan and Voronezh for several years.

“The establishment of press centers in regions of the Central Federal District is a strategic objective of our agency and we are planning to open several more bureaus in a number of regions of the district soon,” said Leonid Persky, Interfax-Center General Director.

“Independent media sites are a link in the establishment of an effective dialogue between the authorities and business, a contribution to the advancement of the regional media allowing newsmakers to openly express different opinions about various issues of interest to the modern public,” he said.

Persky was convinced that “the opening of the Interfax-Center bureau and press center in Ivanovo will promote more reporting on the advancement of Ivanovo region, in particular its economic potential.” “I believe this in turn will promote the creation of favorable conditions for business and help attract more Russian and foreign investment in the region,” he said.
