Interfax wins Golden Ruble award

Interfax Information Agency has won the Second All-Russian Financial Development of the Russian Economy Contest's Golden Ruble award for the best coverage of financial recovery and development problems in Russia.
The award ceremony was held on November 11 as part of an international conference of city governors in Russia and Europe, called "Economic and Financial Development in Regions and Cities: the experience of Russia and Europe."
The main categories of the 2003 contest included best Russian region for financial development in 2002, best Russian city for financial development in a region, plus mid-sized and small city categories, best financial development project in a company, and best financial development project in a company.
Special awards were also presented for contribution to social development in a city, contribution to sector development and for agriculture and industry development.
The contest was established in 2001 by the National Corporation of Economic Development, the Russian Goods Producers Union, the All-Russian Rossiyskoye Voinskoye Bratstvo Union, and the International Regional Programs Union.
The first Golden Ruble awards were presented on December 11 2002 to governors, mayors and company directors that had achieved the most dynamic financial and economic development in 2001.
