Top Russian officials congratulate Interfax Financial Information Agency on 10th anniversary
MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Top Russian officials congratulated the Interfax Financial Information Agency on its tenth anniversary Friday.
"The Interfax Financial Information Agency in 1993 became the first independent Russian agency in the field of financial and banking information. It has developed over all these years together with the country's financial market. Starting with the issue of bulletins delivered to clients by fax or by courier, the agency created a unique information system that provides market participants with a full range of necessary information from news and analysis to stock exchange information," Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov's message says.
"Maintaining strict standards, efficiency, and using exclusive sources of information, has enabled the news of the agency to become a real instrument for investment decisions on the financial market."
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said the agency's news had become one of the factors that have a real impact on the Russian stock market.
"The creation in 1993 of the country's first specialized financial news agency was, without doubt, a crucial step in forming a civilized and appealing financial market in Russia. Over the past years the agency has gained the authority of a highly professional, objective and most efficient source of news on Russian finances, forming a unique system of specialized information services for all segments of the Russian financial market," Kudrin said.
Central Bank of Russia Chairman Sergei Ignatyev said the Interfax Financial Information Agency played a leading role on the business information market, "combining efficiency and deep analysis."
"Information from Interfax helps the business community, banks and their clients to get an efficient view of the economic environment, predict the development of the market, and take weighted investment decisions. Today few business people can imagine their day without consulting the Interfax financial newswire," said Ignatyev in his message.
Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said Interfax- FIA has confirmed its status as Russia's key financial news agency and that his ministry highly appreciates its prompt, accurate and detailed financial and economic information.
"You are a serious and reliable source of information for the entire professional community," read a telegram from Igor Kostikov, chairman of the Federal Securities Commission.
Congratulations were received by other government officials, Russian trading floors, banks and brokerages.
