Interfax receives over 10 million hits in Factiva database
The Interfax Information Services group has announced the results of the first three years of information distribution through the company Factiva, a major provider of business information and customized content, and a joint venture between Reuters and Dow Jones.
"According to our calculations, the total number of requests for information provided by the agency through Factiva has exceeded 10 million. The number of 'active hits,' when a user looks for information in the entire Factiva database and finds it among Interfax information products, has increased considerably," said Tatiana Romanchenko, Interfax's deputy general director.
The management of Factiva, which is a leading international database, considers Interfax to be among the information sources most frequently used by the international business community.
In the years of cooperation with Factiva, Interfax has demonstrated unprecedented dynamics of the popularity of its news products, said Nick Antonov, Factiva director for Continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Antonov said Interfax is a leading provider of political and business information from Russia. It is among the ten most popular providers of information from over 7,000 sources located in the Factiva database, he said.
"The results of our joint efforts, which began in 1999 after the agreement on the distribution of information through the Reuters database Business Briefing was signed, indicate an increasing interest in Russian political and economic information throughout the world," Romanchenko said.
