Interfax wins European commission tender
Interfax has been adjudged the winner of an international tender conducted by the European Commission to publish the EVROPA magazine for the European Union. As a result of the tender, Interfax and the European Commission concluded an agreement on the publication of the EVROPA magazine.
"EVROPA is the major EU information tool in Russia. Over the years it has acquired a faithful readership among decision-makers and opinion- formers throughout the country. I am very pleased that after a short break we can re-launch EVROPA in successful cooperation with Interfax, which proved to be a valuable partner in this project. The renewed magazine comes out at a crucial time in EU-Russia relations," head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Russia Richard Wright has said.
Interfax Executive Director Dmitri Voskoboynikov noted that "we share the view that the time when EVROPA again comes to its readers is crucial, and we are convinced that the magazine will be helpful to bilateral dialogue. We are satisfied that the European Commission has yet again chosen Interfax as its partner, thus recognizing the vast potential of our news agency and the high qualifications of our staff."
EVROPA was first published in Russia ten years ago. Over the past two years, it has been published in cooperation with Interfax until a contract between the European Commission and the news agency expired. A new tender on the publication of the magazine was announced, and Interfax won it again.
EVROPA is a monthly magazine circulated among its subscribers by direct mail. It voices the EU's positions on international affairs, informs the readers about European realities, contributes to the political dialogue between Russia and the EU, and promotes links between Russian and European businesses.
