The Russian Foreign Ministry and Interfax news agency launched a joint Internet project

The Russian Foreign Ministry and Interfax news agency on Monday launched a joint Internet project. This joint project gives a direct opportunity to ask Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, his deputies and prominent diplomats questions on any aspect of the country's foreign policy.

The range of issues and subjects is practically unlimited - from details of how the new law on Russian citizenship works to the Foreign Ministry's position on the most pressing global problems.

"Today, the Foreign Ministry together with Interfax are launching an action called "The Russian Foreign Ministry - Russia and the world in answers to your questions." Anyone may ask a question about Russian foreign policy or pressing international problems through the Internet, and beginning in October, the ministry will regularly give answers to them," Igor Ivanov said.

He stressed that it is important that Russian diplomacy "will be correctly understood by the public and rely on its support." "We should resolutely get rid of manifestations of office diplomacy and expand channels of dialogue," he said.

Anyone will have an opportunity to ask the Russian Foreign Ministry questions through a special window on the http://www.interfax.ru and http://www.interfax.соm sites. Answers will be posted on our news agency's Internet site and news wire.
