CIS security service reps to discuss antiterrorism measures in Moscow on March 2

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Antiterrorism Center will meet in Moscow on March 2 to discuss the countering of terrorism.

"The 15th meeting of heads (chiefs of staff) of national antiterrorism centers of CIS member states will take place at the headquarters of the CIS Antiterrorism Center (in Moscow) on March 2, 2022, to address antiterrorism cooperation of the CIS member states in the changing international situation," the CIS Antiterrorism Center said on Monday.

"The sides will exchange views on pressing aspects of countering terrorism and extremism. There will be a virtual expanded plenary meeting of the CIS Antiterrorism Center's Scientific Advisory Council on the provision of security during important social and political events in the CIS area," it said.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of security and special services of nine CIS member states, namely, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

It will also be attended by representatives of three international organizations: the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Secretariat of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, and the Executive Committee of the Regional Antiterrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
