Ukraine's agricultural exports by sea 18.1 times bigger than by land via Poland in Jan - Ukrainian minister

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Ukraine's agricultural exports via the maritime corridor were 18.1 times bigger than by land via Poland in January, or 6.7 million tonnes versus 0.37 million tonnes, respectively, Ukrainian media quoted Ukrainian Reconstruction Minister Alexander Kubrakov as saying during the national Q&A session on Monday.

Transit via Poland was bigger in 2022, amounting up to 1 million tonnes a month, he said.

Polish protestors are blocking the passage of not only agricultural goods but also fuel, he said.

"The blockade is on the Polish side, so only Polish law enforcement can clean up this mess. Of course, there was also a conversation with the chief of the [Polish] national security bureau because this is now more of a security issue," Kubrakov said.

It was reported earlier that Kubrakov and Polish National Security Bureau chief Jacek Siewiera held emergency talks over the unacceptability of the blockade of the border, and in particular of passenger transport.
