Russian State Duma factions to meet with candidate for PM at 11 a.m. on May 10, candidate to be discussed at plenary session at 2 p.m. - committee

MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma plans to discuss a candidate for prime minister at 2 p.m. on May 10, while the candidate will meet with factions between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the same day, State Duma Energy Committee Chairman Pavel Zavalny said at a committee meeting on Wednesday.

"We will confirm the prime minister on May 10. The State Duma Council will be convened at 10 a.m., and the candidate will meet with the factions between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. United Russia will meet with the candidate at 1 p.m. A plenary meeting will begin at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m.," Zavalny said, adding it is a preliminary plan.

The State Duma Energy Committee plans to discuss candidates for fuel and energy deputy prime minister and energy minister at noon on May 12.

"As for deputy prime ministers and ministers, the fuel and energy deputy prime minister and the energy minister are within our purview. Our committee will consider two candidates. Tentatively, these candidates proposed by the prime minister will be discussed at noon on May 12," Zavalny said.

According to the constitution, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a resolution on Tuesday to tender the government's resignation after the president-elect was sworn in.
