SOCAR and Naftogaz discuss possibility of storing Azerbaijani gas in Ukrainian UGS facilities

BAKU. May 3 (Interfax) - President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, and the CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Alexei Chernyshov, on Thursday discussed the possibilities of storing Azerbaijani gas in underground gas storage (UGS) facilities in Ukraine.

"The parties discussed the prospects for oil and gas collaboration, including the possibility of storing Azerbaijani gas in Ukraine [in UGS facilities]," SOCAR told Interfax.

Najaf and Chernyshov also discussed matters of energy transition, decarbonization, and other issues of mutual interest.
